While it seems fairly certain the Boston Celtics will try out their updated iteration of the dreaded “double big” starting lineup featuring big men Al Horford and Robert Williams III, but that doesn’t mean the Celtics will stick with that lineup if other permutations prove more effective.
With no lack of potential combinations that could plausibly see the light of day, could it make more sense to try out a lineup leaning more on the team’s young, mostly unproven wing depth? Or do the veteran front court players on the team make more sense as potential options at the power forward spot?
This debate was among the subjects discussed on a recent episode of the CLNS Media podcast “Celtics Beat,” with hosts Evan Valenti and Adam Kaufman broaching the topic with guest Dan Greenberg of Barstool sports.
Watch the clip embedded above to see what the trio think about the Celtics best starting options, and whether this version of the double big lineup might just be a better one.
